In many industrial applications, it is necessary to convert a fixed-voltage dc source into a variable-voltage dc source. A boost converter can be considered as dc equivalent to an ac transformer with a continuously variable turn’s ratio Among all the different converter designs available, only a few are capable of providing power with high efficiency. A work is done for design the nonisolated dc to dc boost converter that has constant output voltage of 600 V. the design will be first verified by computer simulation. The conventional design is first summarized and for the higher power levels the optimization is done for minimizing the cost. The DSP TMS320f2811 is controlling the converter. The DSP TMS320F2811 controller provides the advantages such as programmability, less susceptibility to environmental variations fewer parts count the complex inner current control and outer voltage loop contained with in software and enabling system integration with computer for system management. In this thesis, the convectional boost converter has been implemented. Various control schemes are summarized and simulation is done on the inner current and outer voltage loop method. The power circuit has been simulated on the different condition and it can also be verified with the experimental results. The control algorithm for main core algorithm and protection algorithm are described and it implemented on the DSP. The experimental results are obtained and presented in this thesis.en
