In the present study Actinomycete diversity of wheat sequential crop ( cotton: Gossypium hirsutum) was assessed. The population density of Actinomycete in wheat sequential crop was 2x 103 CFUg-1 of soil. Total 65 Actinomycete isolates weer obtained (53 rhizospheric and 12 endophytes). All the isolates were screened for PGP activities (Antifungal, chitinase production, IAA production, phosphate solubilization, siderophore production). A total of 53 antifungal cultures, 6 phosphate solubilizers, 28 IAA producers and 59 siderophore producers were obtained. The most potent PGP Actinomycete isolates were further tested for their in-vivo beneficial effect on chick pea plants.en_US
