dc.description.abstractElectric Propulsion drives are gaining popularity for battery operated vehicles. This technology has the inherent advantage of energy conservation and being environmental friendly. Exterior Rotor PMBLDC Motor is best suitable for battery operated Electric Vehicle. In this project work, two control topologies based on Specific Application Controller & Discrete Component for Exterior Rotor PMBLDC Motor has been developed and tested. The Specific Application based Controller has many features like soft start, cross conduction protection, direction reversal, 50V high side o/p, Peak Current & Average Current control, Tachometer. In this controller the switching frequency of generated PWM signal is tuned to 11 KHz. The Discrete Component based Controller uses the discrete component like operational amplifier & logic gates. The controller is tuned to generate the PWM signal of order of 25KHz. This controller has features like current amplifier , current limiting. The dead time generated can be varied with this controller. The current limit feature is implemented in it, that is clamp the rise in current than current limit. For the both controller High Side driver is implemented for 3-phase MOSFET inverter to supply PMBLDC Motor. This High Side driver is working on the Isolated supply principle. The proposed control topologies has been successfully tested on Exterior Rotor PMBLDC motor and has very low acoustic noise in the motor operation because both controller are working on the higher frequency. The discrete base controller has switching frequency 25 KHz, Which is higher than audible noise (20 KHz).en
