UEFI Based Oem Diagnostic Tool For Processor Graphics Controllers

Abstract

The OEM diagnostics tool basically is designed for the OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to verify the basic functionality of the Intel's Onboard / Internal Graphics Controller (both Desktop and Mobile Platforms). This is supposed to be the end-of-line manufacturing test what the OEM's do. Apart from the basic Graphics test, there are also some tests which would give information about the system.Some of the Basic tests include Graphics Video Memory Burst test, Hardware Cursor test and 2D BLT test of the Graphics controller. The original software suite [OEM Diagnostic Tool for Legacy BIOS] is completely done on a DOS based environment which gives the user the exibility of being executed from a single boot oppy, On the other hand the UEFI(Uni ed Extensible Firmware Interface) based OEM diagnostic Tool will be developed completely as UEFI application which can be executed in UEFI shell environment through any supported media like USB or Hard Drive. This tool is not executed in DOS environment.
