dc.description.abstract | The ever-growing availability of multimedia data creates a strong requirement for e cient tools to manipulate and present data in an e ective manner. Automated product testing is widely used in the production of both hardware and software in the industries. The contributions of this thesis consist of Automatic veri cation of audio and video parameters and automatic web based testing. A key issue in au- tomated summary construction is the evaluation of quality of audio and video with respect to the original content. Since there is no ideal solution a number of alternative approaches are available. Automatic audio and video summarization tools aim to val- idate the content without human intervention. Methods to assess the visual quality of digital videos as perceived by human observers are becoming increasingly important, due to the large number of applications that target humans as the end users of video. The need for testing the perceived quality of video information after transmission and decoding is the key element to guarantee for the customer satisfaction, thus the success of new video based services. In this tool the output is compared to the 'man- ually' pre-de ned expected output that is to be received by the same input vector. Major task would be to collect di erent parameters from audio and video for e ective comparison and quality analysis. The audio and video comparison is accomplished according to the relationship between feature parameters and the threshold value by algorithms. It is very important to identify the quality as well as the artifacts occur due to the real time testing of any of the product. Finding the video artifacts while real time execution of test cycle as a part of video veri cation is a tough task. Auto- matic audio and video comparison may assist based on the simulated user principal to evaluate the audio and video summary in a way which is automatic yet related to user's perceptions. To perform this task we consider several algorithms and compare their performance to de ne the most appropriate for our application. As explained earlier automation is called as "the creation and application of technology to monitor and control and execute the production, feature and services". Automatic web based testing is the key application for software testing along with the audio and video automation. It will reduce the human intervention as well as increase the ROI for the automation. Error handling is also the part of the automation web based testing; with this we can achieve the higher productivity of test cases. | en_US |
