Abstract: Adsorption can perform many separations that are impossible and impractical by conventional techniques, such as distillation ,absorption, and even membrane based system.lately ,application for the adsorption have expanded rapidly because of sharply rising environmental or quality requirements.like wise ,advances in adsorbent technology have made it possible to meet many of those demands . This article presents the basic principle of adsorption ,emphasizing the practical aspect of adsorbent selection .Granulated Activated Charcoal are contacted by a downward flow of a dilute toluene–water solution in a packed bed mode. Toluene adsorption efficiency and the factors affecting to the adsorption of toluene in packed bed column are studied.Due to increase in temperature the adsorption rate decreases. Super- Pro Designer process software is used to predict the behavior adsorption of toluene–water mixture in packed bed column at temperature 25oC and pressure 1 bar.
