In today's world most of the products developed are dependent upon CAD softwares for its design manufacturing and analysis. Thus a CAD software comprises of a very important position in product life cycle. Moreover there is a lot of competition in the market so if a CAD system wants to survive in the market it needs to developed and improved continuously without losing the robustness and consistency of the features. For this reason CAD software NX needs to improve the robustness of its copy and paste feature as well as the framework improvement of the copy/paste is also needed. Thus this thesis deals with improving the robustness of the copy/pasting di erent features and various other issues related to the Copy/Paste. Some of the problems the copy/Paste feature of the NX software is facing for the time being are Direction sensitivity, No robust input, dependency of the copy/paste feature on many other fea- tures, improper failure messages and incorrect feature references names in the paste dialogue. Related to the copy/paste framework, there are three large code pieces in copy/paste the need to be reorganized and cleaned up so that further improvement to the frame- work functionality can be easily implemented with robustness. It will also make the future maintenance and any further enhancement less costly. This capability would improve productivity and usability of part modeling a product using widely known, renowned and global leader of CAD software Siemens NX. Also it will maintain the robustness and consistency across its various features. It also ensures that the pre- existing functionality does not regress.en_US
