Recently wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSN) is rising very fast. Lot of research is going on wireless multimedia sensor network. WMSN mainly focuses on transmission of multimedia content, like audio, video and images as well as scalar data. Nowadays, to transmit multimedia content in WMSN is challenging task. To transmit multimedia data over WMSN, there are many priority based techniques which assigns priority to nodes in a round robin fashion or weight but it does not consider contents. This thesis focuses on optimizing existing protocol for transport layer and priority is assigned to packets based on multimedia data contained in it when congestion is detected. Our proposed scheme improves packet delivery ratio compared to existing protocol.en_US
