Abstract: The paper deals with solar panel based DC-DC Boost Converter. The aim of the project is to extract maximum power fion solar panel. Hence a method is adopted which obtains the unknown parameters of the array model using information present in the datasheet of PV Panel. These parameters gives the characteristic curves of PV Panel useful in ii.Lp; iila. 1; of MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) algorithm. The maximum power point, varies depending on ■c'' ' moerature, the insolation level and array voltage. The function of maximum power point tracking is needed to operate the PV array at its maximum power point. For maximum power point tracking Incremental Conductance algorithm is adopted. The converter is designed to step up solar panel voltage form 12 to 24 V In designing process, the switching frequency, f is set at 10 kHz and the duty cycle, D is 50%. The tool used for circuit simulation is MATLAB. Then, all the parameter values that obtained from the hardware measurement are compared with the calculation estimation and the circuit simulation for validation purposes. Output of the project, .'?4 V regulated DC voltage is successfully met the requirement.
