Today modern living is almost inconceivable without electricity. Use of electricity in homes, public lighting, industry, agriculture, transport and other human activities has become so widespread and indispensable that the extent, to which the nation has developed its use, is a major indicator of its electronic development and living standard of its people. To cater to the power and water needs of thousands of unelectrified villages in the rural remote regions of the country, there is a need of specially developed low cost, lightweight hydel sets. Here, there is an attempt to develop such a hydel set which will serve (a) light weight, ensuring easy transport to difficult sites and inaccessible places (b) simple construction, installation of the hydel set which will not require any permanent structure.en
