The main objective of this work is to develop 2.6 L capacity four stroke four cylinder inline petrol engine by Upgradation from the existing 1.8 L capacity engine for the design and manufacture of engines in AVTEC ltd Pithampur Indore. The salient aim of this project is the modeling of Critical Components of Internal combustion Engine of 2.6 L capacity & analysis of the components for their development is carried out. Crank throw of crankshaft is varied from 45mm to 47.5mm of 1.8L engine to be used in 2.6 L engine & to sustain high load coming from 2.6 L petrol engine, it needs to be crosschecked against failure. The connecting rod is used in 2.6L Engine is of 2.0L diesel engine so it is also required to be crosschecked for proper functioning in the 2.6L petrol Engine. The main concern is to perform structural analysis of the crankshaft & connecting rod to crosscheck its failure by Finite Element Analysis. Crankshaft, Connecting Rod Assembly, Cylinder head, ACG Bracket, Flywheel & Front Retainer is the critical components from modeling point of view. Cylinder Head is one of the most critical components of IC Engine due to its complex geometry of inlet & outlet chamber profile, combustion profile & the water jackets. The 2.6 L Capacity of petrol Engine is developed by taking petrol engine of 1.8 L capacity as a Base engine. The Company has 1.8 L capacity engine & the development has been done with the Modification in 1.8 L Engine. The Main modification is in the combustion chamber profile & the water Jacket surrounding the Combustion chamber & height of the cylinder block & bore diameter is also increased to increase the capacity of the Engine.en
