Abstract: There are various server management tools available from different vendors that can be used to manage the hardware, virtual machines, storage and backup requirements. These tools are from different vendors and cannot provide a holistic approach to managing all aspects of a server. These tools meant for specific facets should be integrated in a way to provide usefulness for the server administrator, which could be difficult as they need not be compatible with each other. Intel ® Server Continuity Suite is part of a server management suite which aims to provide Hardware Management, Storage Management and Backup and Protection, all tied together by a highly intuitive user interface for the end user to simplify otherwise complex technologies like RAID, HW Devices/Sensors/Events and virtualization. This server management suite will abstract the platform hardware and enable a virtual presence view of the server. Since servers hold critical business data, failures will not be acceptable and hence health data provided via sensors/events/alerts provided by the product will be critical for the system administrator. The product will rely on the hardware abstraction and consolidation SDK (Software Development Kit) to hide the intricacies of device/protocol complexity and provide the information to the applications. My main focus will be in the virtualization segment ,which will help us in using Intel® Server Continuity Suite in a virtualized environment .Thus with less expense it will be possible to manage many servers.
