dc.description.abstractDesign, Modeling, Analysis and Implementation of Hardware Setup of the Direct Torque Control (DTC) and Indirect Field Oriented Control(IFOC) drives techniques used for the controlling and optimization of Induction motor for Intermediate (Time Varying) type of loads is presented in this report. Periodic oscillation of the load torque results in speed pulsations and unwanted stress like current and voltage variation in the driving Induction motor which reduces the overall life of the system as well as of motor. By properly implementing Vector control for modulating the motor torque according to the load torque the detrimental effects of load oscillation on the overall system can be reduced. The project proposes a motor drive to be programmed such that any desired torque profile can be applied on the shaft. After implementing this general capability on the motor drive, an electronic programmable load is used which loads the generator with a pulsating nature of load. Once the load torque profiles have been programmed, the motor control has to be optimized to match the desired load torque profile. Later on, the setup has been used with different kinds of load torque profiles. Hardware implementation involves a motor-generator set and inverter along with programmable load. The implementation is carried out with help of D-space.en_US
