Abstract: High power, long-pulse, microwave has many applications in RF accelerators, defense electronics testing, and plasma heating. Gyrotron is a high power microwave tube used to generate microwave power at GHz range. As the initial operation of the tube require a short length pulse with a pulse width of less than 1ms, a CHVPS (Cathode High Voltage Power Supply) derived power supplies for initial operation of the tube using Tetrode. Tetrode designed is used as voltage modulator for high-voltage regulation. For this we need a different supplies which controls the functional characteristics of operation. Using control circuit, generation of high frequency pulses is provided to control grid, which varies large amount of anode voltage at high frequency. Proper co-ordination and interlocking between different supplies should be maintained for protection of tube. The proposed project work includes design and development of the system with integration and testing of the power supplies.
