Abstract: In today’s world due to constantly depleting resources and cut-throat competition it becomes very much necessary to optimize our resources in best possible way, such that not only the manufactured object is safe to use and have long life but manufactured with just the right quantity of material. Thus it will not only save our natural resources but the manufactured object will have less cost. Similar to this concept t-stiffeners are used to increase the stiffness of the component. T-stiffener finds its application in different kinds of pressure vessels. It can be welded to pressure vessels either externally or internally depending upon the application. In this project first study of existing method to weld t-stiffener is carried out. Various difficulties faced during its manufacturing (welding of flange to web) are observed. Then solutions for different problems were proposed and their advantages over each other were discussed. After identifying the critical problems a new model is conceptualized incorporating the modification and eliminating the critical problem. Detailed design is carried out and a model was made and design of proposed T-stiffener welding station is verified by 'Solid Edge ST-2' software.
