dc.description.abstractAutomobile clutch is a very important member in the transmission of power from engine to gear box, failing of which can lead to the breakdown of the vehicle. Thus to avoid the situation the quality of the clutch cover assembly has to be tested before assembling it onto the vehicle. Here the working of the clutch has been studied and the important parameter required for proper working of it has been marked out. Testing rig available in the market have been compared and analyzed to understand our need to develop a testing rig in house. Simple design for the test rig has been developed and fabricated for inspection of the cover assembly. The cost of the test rig is lower than the readily available testing machines compared in the study. Static structural analysis has been carried out using Ansys software. The results obtained by the use of the testing rig will be compared by the standard results available for the clutch cover assembly.en_US
