Abstract: Automation in the last decade has essentially changed the future view of the all the industries. In an industry like cement plant, loading of cement bags is a bottle neck in a whole process line. the plant doesn’t work to its fullest production capacity due to this. A semi-automatic truck loading system can load 1200 bags per hour though the capacity of the plant is 1800 bags per hour. So, to enhance the capacity utilization a low cost automatic truck loading system is required to be designed, fabricated and implemented. Present work is aimed to reduce loading time of an Automatic Truck Loading System (ATLS) at a dispatch unit of a cement plant. Software like ProE and ANSYS have been used to design and analysis of the Automatic Truck Loading System (ATLS). A conceptual design for proposed automation is carried out. A prototype has been developed and it is found to be faster and consistent in loading of the bags.
