Abstract: | Die casting are amongst the highest volume, mass produced items manufactured by the metal work industry. This study represents the design of automatic operating gravity die casting machine which is automated by the hydraulic system. Design of various components of hydraulic system and ejection system namely structure of GDC machine, column support, hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic motor, power pack, guide bar have been carried out. Steady state and Coupled analysis of critical components has been carried out using Finite element method in ANSYS. Modeling of GDC machine parts have been done in software Creo Elements and Pro-E 5.0. The work carried out would help in increasing the production rate, repeatability and make quality products. In this study hydraulic clamping and ejection system are designed for long term usages with minimal resources utilization in term of space, costs and maintenance, to replace manual operation of the die preparation of gravity die casting. Automation would reduce the production time and also improve quality. It would reduce reliance upon skilled labour. |
