Abstract: Walking beam coil conveyer mechanism is used to transfer coil produced from down- coiler to coil storage area was facing uncertain failure of one of the power transmission Tie-rod assembly. Due to that the production line is frequently collapse & nearly 8 hours shutdown causing huge production loss. The purpose of this project work is to identify the reasons of failure of tie rod & to suggest respective modifications in the component. The complete Static & Fatigue analysis is carried out in ANSYS V11 to determine the stresses generated in the tie rod & to determine the fatigue life of the tie-rod to enhance component service life by modifying its design.
