Abstract: Nitrogen oxides are major pollutants in the atmosphere. Nitrogen oxides are pre- cursor to acid rain, photochemical smog, and ozone accumulation. The oxides are mainly nitric oxide (NOx) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) both of which are corrosive and hazardous to health. Use Cleaner technology for NOx e uent by modi cation in current NOx system and add hydrogen peroxide for better e ciency and ammo- nia to produce ammonium nitrate. Hydrogen peroxide is capable of removing NO from combustion-generated ue gas. Hydrogen peroxide can be injected into ue gas to convert unreactive NO to NO2. This NO2 is scrubb in the water and produce HNO3 which is further reacted with ammonia gas to produce ammonium nitrate.
