Sulphur is naturally present as an impurity in fossil fuels. When the fuels are burned, the sulphur is released as sulphur dioxide, an air pollutant responsible for many human health problems and negative impacts on environment. Environmental regulations have increasingly restricted sulphur dioxide emissions, forcing fuel processors to remove the sulphur from both fuelsQuantith ust gases. So, today sulphur recovery unit has become an integral part of oil re neries. Various Sulphur recovery & Tail gas treating options that is available mainly depg/h of Othe composition of feed and accordingly modi cation in the process is adopted . The software tool is developed from the historic data of di erent projects of Worley parsons technology. Now for generating the sized equipment list, the historic data serves as the database to establish the correlation between the capacity of the plant (TPD) and the comparable parameter of di erent Equipments taken into consideration. This correlation is developed graphically with best t equations. This tool will help in shortcut estimation for sulphur recovery plants as the tool will be helpful in generating the sized equipment list. Today in all the major EPC companies when any new project proposal drops in from the client, the major problem they face is time constraint prior to submission of bid. As for developing this budgetary proposals this companies have to depend on licensors data and after that , inputs from various engineering departments .So if a software tool is developed for Sulphur Recovery Unit projects based on past historic data of the same licensor the time taken could be reduced.en_US
