dc.description.abstract | Touch screens, now-a-days employed in many electronic gadgets, uses a Touch Resistive material. Here in this paper a totally new concept is used to achieve touch screen operation as was given by conventional material. Here motion of the finger or any such element used to touch the screen is tracked and accordingly the coordinates of touch point are obtained [1]. Basically the hardware, on which it is tasted, uses IR sensors to sense the “Touch”. And the simple idea behind this concept is to discretize [12] the whole area of the screen into small “hot spots”. Using this concept to make screens touch sensitive drastically reduces the cost of the device. At the same time the power requirements increases slightly then that of Touch Resistive Material. As here IR sensors are used, the device incorporating touch screens working on this principal cannot work satisfactorily in direct sunlight. | en_US |
