This paper discusses voltage stability analysis of power systems using static technique. The IEEE-30 bus test system and the Mumbai grid is analyzed using a static approach in which modal analysis is performed using system conditions and snapshots. The results obtained using static methods are compared with P-V and Q-V curves and shown to be consistent. For the large interconnected grid all power system components are modeled in detail in Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) of MATLAB platform.en_US
