Abstract: Generally buildings are not designed for abnormal loading except when specified for public buildings. Sometimes these accidental effects cause severe damage to vertical load carrying elements like column. The Sudden failure of structural members under extreme loading is highly a dynamic phenomenon. Once of the mechanisms of failure during such event is referred to as Progressive Collapse.
