Abstract: The pure sine wave inverter has various applications because of its key advantages such as operation with very low harmonic distortion (THD). The project involves simulation and fabrication of pure sine wave inverter. The simulation of the inverter is carried out and analyzed the performance parameter in MATLAB software. The H-bridge inverter topology is used with Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) scheme. A microcontroller dsPIC30F4011 is used to generate the pulses for the switching devices. With the SPWM scheme, the THD of the output of the inverter is low. For the sine wave voltage at the output of the inverter, an low-pass passive filter is used. A control algorithm is developed and implemented for testing a prototype hardware unit of inverter.
