Abstract: Now a day everywhere there is demand of the automatic products and it controlling available from remote location. For remote location application wireless network is the most important. In wireless network there are many option. For short distance communication Bluetooth, Zig-Bee or Wi-Fi based option available. Now if we want to make product control form remote location then it require long distance communication. For that satellite communication, radio network, land-lines network and mobile communication network options available. For the personal use comparatively Mobile network based communication is easily available, reliable and low cost. So, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) is the best option for to control product through the remote location. Development of micro-controller and GSM/GPRS based control board which will act as bridge between industrial serial bus (RTU Modbus protocol on RS485) and GSM/GPRS network. It should be applicable for monitoring and controlling the activity of industrial products from remote location and it allows user to view and handle different parameter related information of their product like Drives, Soft-Starter and AHF (Active Harmonic Filter). If any fault occurred then it inform by sending the SMS to the users. By sending command over SMS using cellphone to GSM board it will access Industrial products without going at location where products are installed, which become more helpful to supervise Industrial automation. So for that under this projects made one complete product Axpert-iCOM which support all those requirement.
