Abstract: | We are moving form web to smartphones. People in huge numbers are connected to social networking and other websites. Web Services are backbone for Web 2.0 and related innovations. jQuery and JavaScript are the new industry benchmark that has changed the traditional way of client side scripting. Using AJAX incorporation with JSON support in the implementation of Web Services is in the trend. Using AJAX web service avoids the roundtrips to server and that helps end user to get data faster form server in real-time applications. The selection of proper data exchange format can reduce parsing time, data redundancy which will help to create better solutions. Using various tests we will be able to say that when we use JSON data exchange format, application takes less time than XML data exchange format and in addition low file size will be the added advantage to application. Another popular data transmission format Protocol Buffers, it serialized data in binary format which is way more compact with all forward and backward compatibility but it’s not self-descriptive. That makes it high on cost operation wise and difficult to maintain. So in many ways, use of JSON data exchange format will give lower response time, nice user experience, and cost on client server communication will also be reduced. |
