dc.description.abstract | In this work the geometrical and the operational constraints of an ackerman steering linkage are analyzed by the systematic using of the normalized lengths of the elements of the mechanism. The ackerman steering linkage for short wheelbase, four-wheel vehicles has been developed by finding four bar linkage synthesis and kinetics of the steered wheel. The linkage coordinates the steering angle of each wheel through a range of 180 degrees with minimum misalignment between the both wheels. In to the ackerman steering mechanism control of steering angles is accomplished using a single linear actuator attached within. Control complexity is very lower in to the ackerman steering system compared to four-wheel steering systems using individual control steering actuators for each wheel. A prototype linkage that provides a minimum turning radius while maintaining maximum stability has been developed and evaluated. The single-actuator linkage is well suited for agriculture applications, due to less cost of it. The worm and worm wheel steering box is developed for the speed reduction of steering wheel. And it is useful for the power transmission applications. | en_US |
