Using CAD/CAE Technology, it is possible to reduce time for product development. CAD software allows designer to link programming language and spreadsheet to input Design feature .this type of design automation saves time to great extent. Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) allows recording and sequencing of the design part process. It will be also allow to automate Repetitive and routine work ,which Reduced lead time of Design and gives more time for innovative work. In Compressor, components like Piston, Piston Rod, Liner, and valve are having similar design feature using the KBE Technology it is possible to integrate Design calculation done in a word processor like excel sheet to the CAD software this type of interface allows designer to build CAD Model without repeating modelling steps and save the design.KBE approach automatically implements modelling steps and create CAD Model as per required specification. In this project, A user interface is created to design the piston and it is integrated with excel sheet. The output from design calculation is saved in excel sheet which is linked with UG/NX by KBE to build the CAD model.en_US
