dc.description.abstract | One of most important non convectional machining process is plasma arc cutting. Plasma arc cutting provide good accuracy cut, good dimensional accuracy, increase the quality of material. Optimization of plasma arc cutting parameters have been carried out using Taguchi method. The appropriate orthogonal array has been selected as per number of factors and their levels to perform minimum experimentation. The material for work piece has been taken as stainless steel 316L for different sixteen experimental work. The best combination of cutting parameters has been found using signal to noise ratio and also validated same with the experimental work. The optimal values for material removal rate and surface roughness have been specified with the help of main effect plot and ANOVA Table. The response table for an optimum setting parameter has been derived from Minitab software. By adopting this technique, productivity has been increased with minimum time by reducing number of the experiments. Confirmation test has been done to confirm the value estimated through the software. Regression analysis is a mathematical measure of the average relationship between two or more variables. The Regression equation for MRR and surface roughness (Ra) has been developed with the help of Minitab software. Using regression analysis the mathematical models of first order for MRR and SR (Ra) are presenting significant effects. | en_US |
