GridTCP Performance Enhancement and Interfacing with Data Transfer Agent

Abstract

“GridTCP Performance Enhancement and Interfacing with Data Transfer Agent” covers the study and performance evaluation of GridFTP, the current implementation of GridTCP protocol, the issues with the GridTCP and addressing the issues to enhance the performance of the protocol. Thorough Performance evaluation has also been carried for the protocol and the results are also submitted to justify the changes made to the protocol. The project also covers the implementation of an interface with the Data Transfer Agent (DTA), which includes all the major bulk data transfer protocols like GridFTP, SABUL, GridTCP, RBUDP, etc. As part of this interface, an application has been developed which would serve as an API for all the applications wanting to use GridTCP services. This application is developed on the lines of the services provided by GridFTP. The DTA interface would be intelligent enough to decide on the best protocol of the lot, given the network conditions at the time.
