dc.description.abstractHigher strength to weight ratio, easy to manufacture and inexpensiveness of the glass epoxy Fiber Reinforced composite materials are widely used as common geometrical section like square, rectangle, circle, angle, I section, C section etc. for dierent structure in place of steel. This project aims to establish _nite element analysis technique for component made of glass epoxy FRP composite material. In this work, the procedure for determining elements, material properties, modeling and solution using FEA package is established. Result of the cable tray deection is developed by considering orthotropic FRP composite linearly isotropic in transverse direction and compared with the ex- perimental data of the company. The project also involves _nding feasibility of design of crash barrier made from FRP material. It is required carry out dynamic analysis to arrive at design of crash barriers and further optimizing its size and shape for optimum performance.en_US
