Anisidine and its derivatives are considered as one of the most important ingredients for the synthesis of dyes. In this article the effect of visible light has been studied on o- and p-anisidines in the presence of methylene blue dye in alkaline medium. Formation of molecular complex between anisidine and methylene blue has been observed. The spectral behavior of this molecular complex has been studied by UV-Visible spectrophotometer and the mechanism of the reaction has been suggested. The effects of the pH, the intensity of the light and the temperature on the rate of the reaction have been studied.en_US
