Abstract: | Today, rate of diabetes patients and health-care cost get increased exponentially worldwide. According to The Hindu newspaper survey in year 2014, 77.2 million people have pre-diabetes in India. Majority of research in healthcare is carried to reduce healthcare cost and to improve health of patients. Diabetes is a chronic diseases which require lot of attention and patients need to maintain the sugar level in blood through proper diet, exercises and insulin injections. To spread the awareness of lingering disease like diabetes some audio and videos are necessary to share with patients and their relatives. To provide a unique health-care social media platform to all diabetic patients all over Gujarat the D-portal is proposed in this paper. Through D-portal all the diabetes patients, doctors, researchers, nurses, patient relatives can have a discussion forum as well as question and answer forums. Proper medication, Food and nutrition values, videos to educate about chronic disease, tracking of EHR (Electronic health records) and side effects of medications can be available 24 X 7 for each patient. D-portal also contain the connectivity to every nearby hospitals and doctors which may help patients in emergency. Certain data mining and web mining algorithms will be used to analyse healthcare data to find out some required and interesting patterns for research in D-portal. Using big data analytics, we may extend D-portal for other states or for all patients all over the INDIA. |
