Abstract: | In this paper various channel models of free space optics have been studied. Lognormal, Negative Exponential and Gamma-Gamma are the mainly discussed in this paper. It is observed that for low turbulence the Lognormal model is widely accepted while for high turbulence Negative exponential model is used. The Gamma-Gamma model is used for low to high turbulence. The pdf (probability distribution function) and BER vs SNR plot of these three channel models are described in this paper. |
