Abstract: QoS based routing is a dynamic routing protocol that has expanded its path selection criteria to include QoS parameters such as available bandwidth, link and end-to-end path utilization, node resources consumption, delay and latency, and induced jitter, which are the prime requirement for any Multimedia routing. Routing in ad-hoc mobile network which is a collection of mobile nodes that are dynamically and arbitrarily located in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on a continual basis, is a big challenge. Ant based algorithm are specialized in optimization of routing solution. Hence in this paper we propose the implementation protocol HMQAnt(Hybrid Multipath QoS Ant), ACO based solution with hybrid adhoc routing strategy for a hierarchical MANET architecture, so as to give optimum solution for adaptive and dynamically changing networks. This algorithm would eventually decrease the overhead and route according the bandwidth requirement.
