dc.description.abstract | Wireless sensor network protocols, LEACH and SEP are homogeneous and heterogeneous networks respectively and they are applied to many applications. Varying network de- signs, routing algorithms, network specifications, etc. have been worked on for enhancing these protocols. We have approached sink nodes in these existing protocols. We have found many pro- tocols, having multiple sink nodes, also called base station, which are provided with mobility. Here, we have worked on multiple static sink nodes, deployed at the fixed, cen- tral position in the given region. The network region is assumed to be the same as that in SEP and its enhanced version, B-SEP. We have divided the region into equal parts with increasing number of sink nodes. Various division patterns have been experimented and the best is adopted in our dissertation. We have investigated outcomes and proposed modification in the optimal election probability equation with respect to the number of sink nodes. Simulations have been pursued with various combination of parameters like number of nodes, initial energy, optimal election probability, etc. and received outcomes have been compared to analyze improvements in our approach. This dissertation work concludes an improved network stability period and a prolonged network lifetime. Our approach gives an optimal solution with multiple static sink nodes over multiple mobile sink nodes, which can be used for many applications. | en_US |
