T is the most revolutionary technique in wireless communication, this is so be- cause MANET has ability to provide communication among mobile nodes. There are various protocols proposed to manage node's connectivity, network efficiency, reliability and security of the mobile net-work. Despite being most useful technique in wireless com- munication MANETs have some serious issues in its security. Many attacks loopholes has been shown by various authors in MANET. There are various security mechanisms and protocols proposed as well, to make the network secure and to detect the attacks. In this project ideas proposing Intrusion Detection Systems to prevent/detect the attack on MANET have been discussed. Later we proposed a Mobile Agent Based Anomaly Detec- tion Technique which is based on Random Walk Algorithm. This technique has several advantages over traditional cooperative and hierarchal Intrusion Detection System. The proposed algorithm is implemented on Network Simulator 2 and results are shown with the help of graphs.en_US
