Abstract: The ever increasing demand of the energy leads to higher consumption of the fossil fuels. This results into the integration of the renewable energy in the embedded system. The usage of the solar energy in the portable devices helps to maximize the availability of energy when the conventional energy source is not available. This project introduces a solar charging system for portable devices. The embedded system is designed to overcome the situations of limited availability of input power source. An external storage battery is implemented to fulfil the need of additional energy to such devices. A concept of “Device Validation Suite kit” (Developed at ARM) is used for the performance verification. Using the efforts being taken in this thesis, the renewable solar charging system can become more efficient and reliable.
