Abstract: Voice over IP Telephony perceives a major heed and it will be used in IP-based networks and also in amalgamation with the premature conventional PSTN telephone system. The restrictions of the circuit-switching techniques of conventional telephony system may now be bridle through integrating it with IP technologies. Internet Telephony is an economical and powerful communication option by integration of the data networks and telephone networks. IP telephony is used to send video, audio, fax etc. between two or more users in real-time through packet-switched network. The major motivation of IP telephony is ease of developing, cost savings and integration with new services. Each software-development group validates its products rigorously, still most of the time delivered software having defects in outcome. Validation engineers try to grab bugs prior to the final outcome is delivered but defects often slither in, always come back in product with vigorous manual and time consuming validation processes. Softwarevalidation tests have to be replicated frequently during complete development cycle to make sure quality in outcome. As and when source code is altered software-validation tests need to be executed again and again. Manually executing these validation tests is time consuming and costly. One way out for above problem is Automated testing, which can be created once and they can be executed again and again with no additive fare and it is more rapid than man handled validation processes. Automatic software validation testing can reduce the overall time to execute repetitive test cases from some days to few hours. Automated-software validation testing is the great way to expand the area of software validation process, its effectiveness and also efficacy. In this project we are developing an Automation Frame work for the IP Telephony System, which will take care of the coverage of entire use cases of the system. This framework is a platform-independent Tcl/Tk scripting tool accessing different Systems like Abacus device, VPN Client, BTS Server, PACT, Alicante to perform VOIP telephony system validation. It offers a simple to use framework to manage, configure, analyse, perform and automate diverse call-scenarios.
