Recent scenario says that challenges are to optimize the design of hv epoxy component in medium voltage switchgear. This project initiated by carrying out detailed study of the dielectric analysis and design constraints related to hv component of 36 kV panel. Bushings are used to carry out conductors into all types of electrical apparatus (e.g. transformer, circuit breaker, switchgear). Their form depends on the rated voltage, insulating materials and surrounding medium. project purpose is to design and a prototype development of spout and roof top bushing by using FEM Simulation Packages and FEM Simulation Tools. focus of project was to get the breakdown value at 170 kVp peak impulse voltage. Moreover, the project portrays the benefit of the bushing construction in medium voltage switchgear panel. The project work consists of finding suitable design and insulating material for the spout and roof top bushing. Making a new model of bushings by using CAD and Solid Work software and then analyze with the help of FEM Simulation Packages and FEM Simulation Tools. As a result of the work, necessary design modifications have been suggested in order to improve its performance. Prototypes of the proposed design will be verified by the impulse voltage withstand test, power frequency withstand test, partial discharge test.en_US
