Different motors are used in industry as per the required applications. So the advanced electrical machines are to be designed for the better performance, robust construction, satisfactory high efficiency and low maintenance. Mainly axial flux permanent magnet and radial flux permanent magnet machines are used. Axial flux permanent magnet machines offer better features and performance compared to the conventional machines. They are having more efficiency and material saving due to less core material requirement. The aim of this project is to design an axial flux permanent magnet brushless dc motor by conventional method. CAD programming will be carried out for the design of axial flux permanent magnet brushless dc motor. Based on outcome of CAD program, detailed finite element analysis (FEA) will be carried out to validate CAD program. It is always desirable to achieve higher operational efficiency. So in this project the refinement in conventional design will be done to improve motor efficiency and that will be validated in finite element analysis (FEA) software. Good designed axial flux brushless dc motor can provide all the features like less size of motor, noiseless operation and less vibration which require parametric analysis, in order to fulfill the requirements of industries.en_US
