Abstract: An efficient drive system for a DC motor based on PWM DC-DC converter adopted, simulated, analyzed and fabricated. The adopted converter provides both positive and negative output voltage, which is supplied to the splitted armature circuit of the DC motor. The converter also offers both the motoring and regenerative braking mode of operation on user demand, as well as on connected load demand. The scope of work will involve selection and design of all power components. In addition to it, the scope of work will also focus on development of suitable power scheme and control scheme for the DC motor drive.
