dc.description.abstractIn today’s world an aesthetic view of a product will give a better look to the product. Every product of a metal is required to be finished. A polishing is a process of giving a better look or to give a better finish on the surface of a product. In a current competitive market it is required to develop a good quality and cost reduced machine tools with optimum usage of material. In present work a conceptual design of a sheet polishing machine is developed for polishing a metal sheet and analysis of the components are carried out. It includes the design of various machine parts like design of worm gear, screw jack, conveyor system, spindle etc. and selection of the gear box and other machine parts. Further FEA is carried out for the major parts of a machine and topology optimization is performed to reduce weight of the table of machine tool. A 3D model of the sheet polishing machine is modelled with the help of commercial CAD software and also 2D drawings are generated in order to manufacture the machine tool.en_US
