To achieve world class manufacturing system, Industries are continuously striving to increase the productivity by various approaches. In current competitive market there must be flexible manufacturing to meet global demand. For flexible manufacturing system there must be minimum change over time. Throughout the study, the aim is to proposed new layout to the company to increase their productivity. In this project investigation is conducted to develop the assembly line for single drum roller machine which is used in road construction equipment. Sequence and time required to assemble the component is determine. Two line balancing method are used to design and develop the assembly line. Factor affecting to balance the assembly line are identified. Conceptual design of assembly line is suggested to reduce the lead time and smooth flow of assembly line. To deal with the higher demand rate in the future implementation of assembly line using parallel works and designing the fixture for different sub assembly component to reduce the assembly time and increase the productivity.en_US
