Abstract: | One of the most important tasks that is tightly coupled with MR scans is to carry out the post processing required for effective detection of possible defects as well as draw important results for treating the same, one such study related to cardio- vascular diseases as well as cerebrospinal uid ow is Quantitative blood ow analysis .The post processing package developed here calculates quantitative information as ow velocity or ow rate, visualized as 2D color ow maps overlaid on anatomical references. These ow maps can be used to view stroke volumes or analyze CSF ow. A QFlow scan is a scan where multiple acquisitions take place within one cardiac cy- cle, resulting in multiple phases. Results from QFlow analysis include stroke volume, forward and backward ow volumes, ux, stroke distance, mean velocity, maximum velocity, minimum velocity, peak velocity, and vessel area. However, to carry out this analysis certain pre-requisites and protocol related standards (e.g. Breathhold) need to be followed during the scanning process and in order to follow these protocols, standards and work steps an automated help is thus developed in the form of in room operator control which is intended to be integrated with an MR system in the form of a Gantry Display. |
