dc.description.abstract | The attendances of students is taken manually in class-rooms all across the world. This system is tedious and wastes a lot of time of the teacher and the students. It also requires too much clerical and administrative work. There are many automated systems avail- able for this already such as bio-metric systems, but these systems also waste a lot of time, because the students have to wait in a queue and touch their thumb in the de- vice. So,I propose an automated student attendance system,in which the attendance of students will be marked automatically based upon the presence of the student in the class-room.We will be using image processing to do the same.In this project we have used openCV with python.A camera is used to input the image of the class-room full of stu- dents. Then we apply face detection and face recognition algorithms to do our attendances. | en_US |
