Abstract: Diabetes is a disease which occurs when the pancreas does not secrete enough insulin or the body is unable to process it properly. This disease in uences gradually the blood circulatory system including that of the retina. As diabetes advances, the vision of a patient may begin to fall apart and lead to Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). The focus of the thesis is to detect DR using deep learning techniques. To be specific, convolution neural network is used to detect presence or absence of Microaneurysms(MA).
