Abstract: In the field of Healthcare, diagnosis is very crucial. MRI scan uses magnetic field and the radio waves so as to define a detail image of any body part. This scan helps radiologist to visualize the inside of patient's body. MRE is one such scan of MRI.MRE is patented by Mayo clinics. It is specialized to scan Liver. It is a advance and very accurate and noninvasive diagnostic imaging test to assess and evaluate certain gastrointestinal disorders, including in ammatory bowel diseases such as small bowel lymphoma, infectious enteritis,Crohn's disease, and intestinal tuberculosis. It is a medical imaging technique that measures the mechanical properties (stifeness) of soft tissues by introducing shear waves and imaging their propagation using MRI. MRE calculates the mechanical parameter as elicited by palpation, in a non-invasive and objective way.MRE is being investigated to be used for a multitude of diseases that affect the tissue stiffness. It is currently being clinically used for the assessment of hepatic fobrosis, since it is well known that the liver stiffness increases with the progression of this disease.
