dc.description.abstract | Voice over IP Telephony is a major and established technology. Its chief benefits over conventional PSTN networks are eficient utilization of bandwidth, support for multiple services and end to end functions like Quality of Service etc. It is an economical and powerful communication option by integration of data and telephone network. Each software development group validates its products rigorously, to ensure develop- ment of a quality product for the competitive technology market. Bugs or defects must be patched prior to the delivery of the product. Validation engineers try to analyze the product regularly in each and every phase so as to validate its real time response and maintain the baseline quality. As and when source code alters, software validation tests need to be executed again and again. Manually executing these validation tests is highly expensive and time con- suming. The solution to this is automation, which is very vital in the industry. Create the automation framework once for your requirement and execute again and again with no additive fare. It is more rapid and accurate than manual validation processes. Au- tomated software validation can reduce the overall time to execute repetitive tests from some days to few hours. Automation is the great way to improve the arena of software validation process, its effectiveness and also efficiency. The proposed project, Automation Frame work for ATP in VoIP focusing IP Security, emphasizes on development of a framework which is able to automatically execute the required validations including the IPSec enabled secure call features while considering all the necessary specifications and provide results in an optimized period of time. This framework is a Perl and Tcl/Tk scripting application, accesses different hardwares like Voicetronix card, CMTS, PACT, eMTA. It offers a user friendly framework to manage, configure, analyze, automate and perform diverse call-scenarios. | en_US |
